| Report from the Conference |
The Bosnia and Herzegovina Quality Conference took place in Neum between 16 and 18 November. It was organised by the Quality Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber of Commerce and supported by the BH Telecom d.d. Sarajevo, RGH Inspekt d.d. Sarajevo and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica. The Conference was attended by 80 participants from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina with different professional backgrounds (economy, education, ministries, civil service etc.) The Conference took place within three days. Below are the agenda and the materials that the participants presented at the conference.

The initiative to form a team of managers within the AQBiH was adopted at the Conference (pdf, 16 kB), as well as a unanimous message of all of the Conference participants (pdf, 23 kB) which will be distributed to all the relevant entities in BiH (the Presidency, the governments, individual ministries, state agencies and civil services etc.)
A Protocol of Cooperation between the Agency for Quality of BiH and Foreign Trade Chamber of Commerce in BiH was also signed at the Conference (pdf, 98 kB)
A letter was sent from the Conference to the EOQ General Secretary informing them about the activities taken by the Association for Quality in BiH (pdf, 73 kB).

| Change of EOQ statute to meet Belgium requirements |
The General Assembly agreed on the modifications proposed by the lawyer to obey the new Belgium law with the addition of the modification of article 12.3: delete the 5 last words "of the three vice presidents" and add 5 words: "at least four Vice Presidents" and the give to Annette Geirnaert the responsibility to represent the EOQ National representatives at the extraordinary general Assembly called by the lawyer Mars 1st in Brussels in his office in Brussels. The GA asked each EOQ National Representative to sign the "law procuration" document) with the mention of the last modification.

| Education Summer Camp |
The European Organization for Quality and Lulea University of Technology are pleased to welcome you to a Summer Camp on Educational Transformations June 27 - 29. The Camp will focus on the transformation needed in education, with a special focus on university education. The current European movement towards the Bologna agreement has to be seen as an opportunity for supporting these transformations. Possible threats have to be avoided or transformed into possibilities. Of course, none of us participants have the silver bullet, the magic spell which will make our dreams in education real. However, together we might create networks for creating, communicating, supporting, and put into action novel ideas taking us closer to a new Educational Culture.

| EOQ 50th congress |
he EOQ 50th anniversary is in four weeks.
1) It is already a success looking to the registration. Please check that you have registered in a stream (www.eoq50years.org) . The number of places per stream is limited and it will be too late when arriving in Antwerp. It is still the time to recall your friends who have not yet registered.
2) You shall receive the agenda of the meetings in the next days.
3) Friday afternoon we will have a world summit of National Quality Association. Only one representative is allowed per country due to the size of the room.
4) If you have not yet sponsored a table at the gala dinner, please do it. It is a way to show that you have a place in Europe.(contact Annette)
5) We are distributing two documents on which we would like to have your comments (see attached documents). Please send me your comments before May 15th.

| Quality 2005 |
In the period from 9th to 11th November, the Fourth Scientific Professional Conference QUALITY 2005 was held. The conference is traditionally held as a central festivity to mark the World Day and European Week of Quality in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The conference was organised by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zenica, University of Erlangen Chair Quality Management and Manufacturing Metrology and Bosnia and Herzegovina Quality Association. There were 87 papers received for the conference by 172 authors and co-authors from 13 European countries, and 52 papers were presented at the conference. The conference was attended by 160 participants, authors, co-authors and representatives of economic, service and scientific organisations from BiH, Germany, Macedonia, Slovenia, Croatia, Turkey, Italy and Austria. We would like to use this opportunity to thank once again our general sponsor, BH Telecom dd Sarajevo, as well as other sponsors (RH Inspekt, BiH Federation Government, Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton, BiH Foreign Trade Chamber, Federation Ministry of Development, Business and Trade, as well as the Mayor of the Municipality of Zenica) who have contributed to the success of the conference. The second week in November, this year it will be 8th-14th November, is celebrated as the European Quality Week, and the Thursday of that week is celebrated as the Quality Day. This year, the World Quality Day will be celebrated for the fourteenth time since its establishment. In highly developed countries, such as USA and Japan, this day has grown into a month of quality. The quality days are used as a unique opportunity for emphasizing quality through scientific and expert conferences, popular promotions, suitable celebrations and other festivities. |
